As usual, the best-selling smartphone chart for 2021 is dominated by iPhones. As many as seven iPhones made it into the top ten. That’s two more than 2020. Those two spots were occupied by Samsung phones last year. This year, Samsung had only one more device in the top ten — the Galaxy A02 at the tenth spot. It sold 18.3 million units at an ASP of $138. The Redmi 9A is the only other Android smartphone on this list, featuring at the fifth spot sandwiched between a bunch of iPhones....

The August SMR for the carrier-locked Galaxy S10 units in the US comes with firmware version G97*USQU6IVH2. According to SamMobile, who first reported this rollout, users on T-Mobile or Sprint networks should be receiving the update over the air (OTA). The update should also make it into devices on other carrier networks in the coming days. Samsung has yet to release the September SMR. So the August patch is the latest available for Galaxy smartphones and tablets....
